Brackets

It is a nice day today, rained overnight but we should be able to complete some more of the little details and move closer to sanding the door.

A couple of simple brackets, each constructed from three pieces of scrap wood, three screws and some glue. These things would cost only four bucks a piece on clearance at IKEA but then of course there are taxes, cost to travel there if we could (we don't have an IKEA on the island anyway) and after completing our version we calculated that our price was about five cents a piece.

Five cents.

I can imagine my woodworking teacher, Mister Roberts, looking at these and he would be feeling the same negative emotions as he always did when reviewing any of my teenage work.

However, I survived secondary school and these will certainly do the job. They are soon to be painted and installed in a greenhouse nearby.
