It is a crusade, this removal of the green stuff, which really serves no purpose, just an incubator for dandelions and other weeds. In Gibsons we created a large full sun bed, and here in Sooke, the lay of the land in the front yard says that another similar bed is in order. The one thing we have to be careful of when planting this new bed are the large amount of deer that pass by the house each day, we do not want to create a tasty buffet for them.
