Less Grass, Part One

There has been a lot going on lately and to keep our minds busy in other ways, the projects in the garden are starting. This first effort measures five by twenty-one feet, for a total of one hundred and five square feet of grass that is now residing in the compost area and will never need mowing again.

A good few hours graft from the pair of us was required, and the reward, of course, was a beer or three and yesterday, some very special honey mead from Tugwell Creek Meadery just a few kilometers down the road from our home town of Sooke.

In the next day or so, top soil and alder mulch will be delivered, and we'll be at it again to get this area ready for planting.
